About The Story
The story was similar to that of other movies, like Next with Nicolas Cage, in terms of ideas and cinematography, which was also similar to that of Vantage Point, but in general, the story was still unique and very interesting.

About The Director
Director Duncan Jones created a very realistic story. The way the director showed the effects was interesting, and he did a great job in terms of cinematography showing scenes using different angles and precise timing.

About The Actors

Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, and Vera Farmiga gave very good performances. Jeffrey Wright gave a very bad performance, and he was not the right choice for this role. Michelle Monaghan always excels in such roles, and she was the perfect choice.

About The Sound Mixing

Very good, especially in the explosion scenes.

About The Cinematography

Great scenes and angles.

Nothing interesting.

The story is very interesting and elicits many different thoughts and ideas, but director Ron Howard failed to take advantage of the interesting story to make a stand-out movie. Many scenes were unnecessary, and many boring scenes affected the quality of comedy. I wasn’t expecting that from the director of the great movie A Beautiful Mind (2001). The acting was not really convincing from most actors. The director has done so many other good movies but couldn’t deliver in this one, and the script also was too weak to make the movie really funny.
The movie in general was not good. Many big names participated, but that didn’t really help with the poor script, acting, and directing. There weren’t more than five scenes that you could really laugh at. You won’t feel sorry about wasting your money after seeing the movie, but it’s not really worth watching.

In general I only watch American movies due to the big gap in quality in terms of production, performance, and many other elements between American movies and those from other countries. Comedy movies don’t require a big budget to be good, so as an exception, I watch Adel Imam movies from Egypt. But this movie makes me want to see other movies with Ahmed Helmi as well because he’s just amazing.
I went to this movie by mistake (my friend booked the movie and but didn’t tell me the name, although I don’t regret it). I saw the movie more than a week ago and I’m still laughing. This movie is a must see. Ahmed Helmi was fabulous. I was crying more than laughing, and you imagine how strong the comedy was in this movie. The best scenes, of course, were the scenes related to the English Egyptian accent, especially with the school teacher. The movie discussed major issues related to Arabic governments and their passports and how they treat foreigners compared with locals, with such a realistic perspective.
The music was by Omar Kayrat, and I discovered an amazing new singer during the movie, Reham Abdel Hakim, who gave a great performance.

The movie was much worse than expected. It was a very slow movie. It should have been much better, coming from Clint Eastwood. He was 81 when he did this movie, and I think he’s thinking a lot now about what happens after death. He has many questions to be answered, and he tried to answer these questions in the movie, but he didn’t do a good job, didn’t convince me. The best actor was the small boy, and the best three scenes were the tsunami scene at the beginning of the movie and two other scenes at the end of the movie with Matt Damon and the boy.
