Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011)

Ahmed Al Kiremli Opinion in Few Words

Director Brad Bird is mainly an animation director. He has directed some nice animated films, like Ratatouille, The Simpsons, and The Incredibles, but I think his mind was stuck in animation mode in this movie. The story is not really coherent, and there are many scenes with bad framing and in the wrong sequence.
There was some nice comedy in some of the scenes. The scene at the Burj Khalifa was amazing, especially the jump scene. I still don’t know how Tom Cruise got to the Gate Building in the financial center of Dubai right after running from the entrance of the Burj Khalifa… (I think the director drifted into his animation imagination again). The new BMW Concept was amazing, and the scene with the Kremlin explosion was brilliant.
Overall, the movie didn’t live up to the hype surrounding it.

Seeking Justice (2011)

This was a somewhat interesting story. It was kind of a comeback for Nicolas Cage after his failure in five of the last six movies that he made. The movie has great thrills and action scenes.

The Queen (2006)

By Ahmed Al Kiremli

Ahmed Al Kiremli Opinion in Few Words

I understand it’s a biographical movie, but the way the movie is directed and written is boring that it never really moves you and you don’t care to follow it; your biggest challenge will be watching till the end without falling asleep. The movie is so cold, even colder than the English people themselves. The real news footage shown for Princess Diana’s death was much more interesting than the movie itself. Helen Mirren’s performance was very good but did not deserve the Oscar, which she only won because the competition in her category was weak in 2006.

Senna (2010)

By Ahmed Al Kiremli

Ahmed Al Kiremli Opinion in Few Words

This is a very touching documentary about Brazilian Formula One racer Ayrton Senna. There are many lessons to learn from this story. Even with some of the old, low-quality scenes (most of the records are from 1978–1994), the movie was extremely interesting. You can’t think about anything else while watching it except how this guy was amazing, loving, humble, and competitive. He was a real inspiration in terms of overcoming all the challenges that he faced during his career; he never gave up or quit till his last moment of death. It’s a great real-life story to learn from. Rest in peace, Ayrton Senna.
