What is a Passionpreneur? I’ve always believed in being passionate and living a life to die for. Everything I do, I do whole heartedly in a non-compromising manner. After all, you only have one life to live so what are you waiting for? I’m the Passionpreneur and I want to show you how to become one.

I started my career in Dubai as a telesales operator working my way up to multinational corporations. I starting several entrepreneurial ventures that ended up developing into US$15 million businesses with 45 employees in less than 4 years.

I was also heavily involved in the nightlife scene. That lifestyle got me stressed, depressed and anxious. This was the beginning of my journey into personal development.

I moved into consulting for the government of Abu Dhabi on the world’s largest inaugural science festival with over 100,000 family members, yet I was still feeling empty. That triggered a one way trip to India where I spent time in the Himalayas with a Swami who had been meditating in caves for 13 years. But, it was discovering by coincidence that I had a ‘medically non-curable’ disease of which I healed naturally through a mixture of raw vegan diet, weeks of extensive meditation, energy healing and focus techniques.

Those incidents changed my life and woke me up to answer the questions:

If this was it…did my life matter?

What difference have I made to this world?

Did I fully live what was truly meaningful to me?

Did I do the best I can with all what I had?

The answer was simply NO. On all accounts! This triggered the beginning of my journey, seeking a fulfilling life worth dying for. Such a life is a balance of heart, mind, fun and business. The Passionpreneur was born!

At heart we all want to live a passionate life. And leave this planet in a better shape than when we found it. So when our day comes, we know it was a life worth dying for. Its just that we need support in making it happen, and this has become my mission, is to bring passion and purpose to life.

Passion is how the most advanced city in the world sprung from the desert sands of Dubai in less than 10 years. Passion is how Steve jobs put a dent in the universe. Passion is how Richard Branson started an empire and now wants to go to space. Passion is how Einstein made discoveries that changed the world.

And for that matter, passion is what made any major event that ever positively impacted this planet. Once you are passionate and fulfilled you will find your self overflowing with abundance that will impact the world positivity!

So if there is any thing that will make the world a better place it is passion…

Of course going on a journey to India and saying some sweet words is not enough to qualify me in providing you professional support. So, I invested an enormous amount of time and money, and still do every month, into getting all relevant qualifications and experiences that will further enable me in helping you on your journey. TEDxBaghdad is initiated by Yahay Alabdeli, an Iraqi refugee who lives in Amsterdam. His life story is an impressive one. Both sad and optimistic. At the first meeting of the project group for TEDxBaghdad Yahay tells us about his life.

Start of Iran-Iraq War

Yahay Alabdeli moved from Iraq in 1979, when he was only 4 years old. His family lost everything in just a few hours. Yahay tells: “My mother picked me up from school. We saw soldiers in the streets. They took everything, including my father. My father, a businessman, was supposed to have a meeting on the economic future of Iraq. This meeting was supposed to take half an hour. It became 6 months. They took him to prison. They left my mother, my brother (who was 1 year old) and me (4 years) behind. They told my mother to go to her parents. So we did.”

“One evening two men came to the door. They said to my mother that she needed to prepare her two kids for a trip. They wanted to take us to our father in prison, because boys are supposed to stay with their father. Girls stay with their mother. My mother said: “Come back tomorrow. I’ll prepare their bags.” The same second she took a taxi with us in the evening, with no luggage, to Kuwait. We stayed there for a year. Then we heard about my father’s whereabouts.”

Out of prison

“When my father got out of prison, they took him to the border between Iraq and Iran. He got three options. They said: “If you go right, there are landmines. If you go left there’s the Iraqi war and straight ahead there’s Iran.” He walked for three days. Without water or food. Plus, he carried his mother of 90 years old. After a day people couldn’t wear their clothes, because they felt so heavy. And my father had his mother to carry. Incredible. For me it’s a great story on how you can make it, stand up again and be a human again,” says Yahay.

Europe

“So, we didn’t know about my father for almost a year. Eventually, we met him in Syria. We became a family again and we moved to Sweden. That’s where I grew up.

I lived there for about 18 years. My family and friends live there. I have a Swedish nationality. We lived in a small village of 4.000 people. If I changed my t-shirt, everyone would know! We were the only foreign family.”

“Since about ten years I live in The Netherlands. Love brought me here.”

As an Entrepreneur, Efficiency Expert, Author and Business Maverick, Al Kiremli has worn many hats during his career. In the last decade alone he has created the world’s first Iraqi food franchise, a unique gaming brand, and undertaken or invested in myriad projects. Thanks to his perseverance, his innate belief that every day brings with it the opportunity to learn something new, and his ability to adapt and navigate any obstacles he encounters, he has made each of his “hats” fit. If you were to ask Ahmed Al Kiremli why he’s as successful as he is today, he’d tell you it’s because he’s failed in the past, and learned from those failures.

An endless seeker of knowledge, Al Kiremli holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix, AZ. Supplementing his acquired knowledge and experience through books, seminars and the mentorship of experts, he has managed to continue incorporating his love for learning into his everyday life. In his career, he has used this thirst for knowledge, both the acquiring and sharing of it, to straddle the line between corporate strategist and entrepreneur.

He has tackled such varied challenges as implementing strategic change within decades old companies to establishing and franchising his own Iraqi fast/casual dining brand (IRAQI TOUCH); the first Iraqi food franchise in the world. Along the way, he created an inventive gaming brand (Games Corner) leveraging “dead space” within malls and subsequently franchised the concept, provided tactical leadership to leading regional brands and used his in-depth knowledge of internet marketing to optimally position his brands. He continues to explore new concepts, either his own or unique investment opportunities, daily, and stays true to his overriding passion: to learn all he can, and share that knowledge with others.

Alongside this drive, Al Kiremli has kept striving to find the ideal balance between work and life, developing innovative methods of managing his ever increasing workload in ways that allow him to combine his love for life, and his love for work.  He has streamlined his operations through a combination of outsourcing and productive delegation among other methodologies, freeing up time to allow him to continue developing new concepts, and identifying new opportunities.

A firm believer in the principle that says the right mindset, a willingness to learn, persistence, and a belief in the dreams that drive us combined with the will to take action are the main keys to success means that Al Kiremli has developed a sixth sense which has led him to seizing opportunities others may discard. It’s by taking these educated risks that he’s succeeded, and today, he has taken his myriad talents and varied experience and combined what he has learn into the premise for his new book; one that deals with the ever important topic of transitioning from employee to efficient entrepreneur.

If you ask Al Kiremli what tomorrow will bring, he’ll tell you he doesn’t know; all he’s sure of is that whatever it is he’ll learn from it, grow, succeed and ensure it endures as part of his legacy. After all, for an entrepreneur who managed to find the time to acquire new skills, seek out and embrace new opportunities while maintaining balance in his life through creative management, all while becoming a professional squash player: anything’s possible.

What Ahmed Al Kiremli says about himself?

When working with someone, I believe it is important for you to know a little bit about that someone. If you are not already familiar with me, my name is Ahmed Al Kiremli. As an entrepreneur, I have started several of my own businesses. I am also an investor as well as an efficiency expert to individuals and companies. In that capacity, I am also frequently called upon to provide mentorships to CEOs and other individuals.

One of the questions that I am frequently asked is what exactly is it that I do. My specialty lies in seeking out new, innovative and more efficient ways to improve business processes as well as everyday life habits. This is an area in which I am intimately familiar. I know whereof I speak. By implementing such efficiency methods and business processes in my own life and career, I have been fortunate enough to experience a high degree of success, including establishing a variety of brands, such as the first Iraqi franchise restaurant in the world (IRAQI TOUCH). Other business enterprises that I have founded include the world’s best movie ratings app (Best Movie Ratings), a kids’ playground concept (Climb and Slide), and a unique video gaming brand (Games Corner).

Needless to say, I have worn many hats during the course of my career and I am continually seeking out and exploring new endeavors on an international and local basis. At the same time, I also continue to look for new and innovative ways in which I can become more efficient.

It is precisely those techniques that I teach to clients in my efficiency consultancy business. You see, I believe that we all have dreams, goals, and desires. We all want to do more. The differentiating factor that results in some people being able to accomplish those goals while others only dream about them is that some people are able to overcome obstacles and work more efficiently while others are not. I strongly believe that every day brings with it the opportunity to learn something new. I have certainly faced many challenges in my own life, yet I continued to persevere, and adapt to any challenges that came way. At some point, we have all failed in the past. I have had my own share of failures, yet I learned something from each of those failures.

Many people call themselves lifelong learners. I think of myself as an endless seeker of knowledge. Along with holding an MBA from the University of Phoenix, I continue to supplement my knowledge and experience with seminars, books (an average of 2 books per week), and expert mentors. Today, I deploy that same thirst for knowledge as a way to not only enhance my own education but also to share it.

As an efficiency consultant, I teach others how to find the time necessary to acquire new skills, how to not only seek out but embrace each day’s new opportunities, and maintain a healthy balance in life through creative management. I not only believe that anything is possible; I can show you how to achieve it.
